President's Bio:

Dr. TruesdellDr. Joanne Truesdell knows first-hand how Clackamas Community College can launch a career. It was here that she began her college education and made her initial contributions to CCC as a student leader. Joanne's thorough knowledge of Oregon's educational opportunities deepened as she earned degrees from Portland State University, the University of Portland, and a doctorate in education from Oregon State.

Joanne's personal Smart story is amazing for its depth and range of experience. In her earlier days at CCC, she worked in Career Development, Admissions, and in the Veterans Services/Students with Disabilities Office. At Portland Community College, Joanne was first the director of the Family Resource Center and then director of Enrollment Services. She went on to become dean of Student Development at Chemeketa Community College, where she then moved on to serve as Executive Dean.

Dr. Truesdell gained expertise in workforce development, gained during her service as
Deputy Commissioner/Deputy Director for the state agency responsible for
workforce development. Her understanding of issues involving workforce
development has had a direct impact on CCC's programs, and has positioned
the college to be especially effective in addressing student needs in difficult
economic times.

Devoted to providing the best educational opportunities for the community CCC
serves, Dr. Truesdell brings to CCC an intimate understanding of how all the
complex parts of a quality learning environment come together to produce great
results.
